While ASAI's work programme for the 2014-2019 term focused on restructuring, the 2019-2024 term will focus on strengthening. ASAI's strategic plan for this period is as follows:
- Strengthening ASAI Institutions
- Strengthening ASAI members' human resources through capacity building activities and encouraging further study.
- Strengthening the Academic Quality of the SAA Study Programme in Facing IAPS 4.0 and the Independent Campus Policy
- Selection of Strategic Programmes in the fields of research, publication, and community service.
- Development of Applied Religious Studies (Applied Religious Studies)
- Strengthening National & International Networks
- Strengthening cooperation with strategic partners
- Dissemination of knowledge through book and journal publications
- Development of learning resources, online learning & resource centre.
- Strengthening scientific knowledge through scientific forums between students, lecturers, researchers and ASAI members
